Running Cubase 3.1 and the cpu keeps on Spiking and jamming up the track. The track dosent even have to be playing for this to happen. While sitting idle it will suddenly spike to the top sir there for a couple of mins then drop down to about 20 percent again. I am only using a couple of plugins and when i disabble them the problem still occurs.
Any ideas anybody? |

I've had this exact problem occur before. When I encounter problems like this, I immediately back everything up and format the computer. It's not worth dealing wit 15 hours of problems if I can have the problem solved in 2 hours with a brand new, clean install.
Of course, nowadays I have an even better system that allows me to fix problems like this with a few button pushes and waiting 10 minutes. Create A Perfect Backup Of Your Windows Hard Drive
