Hello everyone, The E-MU 0404 USB that I purchased arrived today and I've been trying to get it to work with my SHURE SM58 but it wouldn't work.. I'm a complete newb on this and I need your help! I heard that in order to start recording, I need to connect my mic to a mixer... is that true? is there any way to just have to mic working by plugging it into the 0404? by the way, I use Adobe Audition for recording. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would help!! Thanks ! p.s. I connected my speakers to the 0404 but most of the time I get an error message when I try to listen to any music files.. sometimes it works. Why is that and what should I do? You don't need a mixer as long as you have a way to get your mic hooked up to your computer which you do via USB. Just make sure the gain is up on your interface and that your software is recognizing your interface. Does it work with another microphone? Try that and if it still doesn't work, it might be a problem with your interface not being recognized. Hope that helped. |

Well im no expert with this but i have encountered a few similar problem swhen i first started recording. With your USB interface there are several things that may be wrong there could be conflicts with other devices or software. I needed to install a seperate USB card in my computer so solve an IRQ conflict (this can get pretty involved especially if you are not very computer literate>) mind you putting the PCI card in is easy but conficts can be hard to find if you dont know where to look. As many people in this forum will tell you it is best to have a deticated system for Audio recording, and with out knowing how you are set up my only advice would be to clean out your computer and reload your interface and recording software on a fresh clean system. As for the problem with your speakers if you have any other sound devices connected remove them and also check in your "control panel" under "sounds and audio equipment" that the interface is selected as the default device. I hope some of this has helped without being confusing, i am only a Newbie on the forum but i have had to do a lot of reading and tinkering to get my system the way i want it over the last few years, so dont be afraid to ask and let the NET be your friend just search. |
