Default newbie needs help

After going thru the tutorial, i purchased the following items, tascam us-1641 and sonar 8, behringer b32030a monitors Over-joyed I went home and loaded it all on my laptop. Everything installed ok. So now I am ready to make music....you would think...I keep dropping out the sound and cant seem to get anything to work as it is suppose to I am not very techie so I can use any help

Need more info to be of help. What software are you using? What OS? How is everything connected? What do you mean by "dropping out the sound"?

audio dropouts mean you need to increase the buffer size in your audio settings panel or upgrade your laptop. You should have at least 2 gigs of ram.

disabled motherboard sound card and made tascam default, sound flowing good, read article about latency...but not sure where to check it on my lap to see if it is an issue....

You should have a setting in your Tascam 1641's control panel for adjusting latency.
