Cool mac and pc interfaced together

i have an imac 24" core two duo 2.8ghz
4 gig of memory
300 gig harddrive
tascam fw 1082
logic 8
omnispere
plus three external drives
both are sharing logitec 550 watt 5.1 speakers

and a pc quad core duo 2.66
4 gig
600 gig hard drive
sonar 8
ivory
omispere

the tascam fw 1082 seemed to work better with the mac
originally i hoped this would work with gender benders on audio cable but no luck there. so now i am thinking of going with maudio delta 1010LE which has midi and two 1/4 outputs and running that to the tascam input from my pc

was there a question or are you just telling us you got it working?

Lots of people do this - most tend to put their sample libraries on PC's and run the DAW from their Mac.

With real 64 bit computing, its becoming less necessary, but there are crossplatform tools to help you out there if you need them to sync stuff up. One such is MIDIoverLAN. Apparently VSL also have one though I'm not sure if its been released yet.

If you're taking a straight audio out, I would think the only problem you'll have is latency. This is where something like MIDIoverLAN comes in - it keeps things in sync. That's my understanding anyway. Personally, I'm trying to keep it on one machine, but if you need more than one, then you need something to keep them in sync.
