HP Pavillion a6750c Wont Upgrade to XP???

Alright. Im stumped because Ive just purchased another PC which is exactly the same model as the PC I purchased 3months ago and Update to XP without a problem.

Its an Hp Pavillion A6750c
AMD Phenom X4 9650 Quad Core
8gb Mem
750 gb HD
...

It comes with Windows Vista 64bit, but I have successfully upgraded the other pc with windows xp pro sp2 with no problems, found all the drivers but with this machine I cant get thru the windows setup screen where its loading the drivers. Im thinking about purchasing a new copy of xp but I dont want to if its gonna give me the same issues....

WHAT AM I MISSING..?

Do you format/clear the drive before upgrading ?

Not sure if that makes a difference, but I always do that.

Where exactly does it get stuck during the setup process?

@Jagcmos: I have tried and it still hangs on install.

@Fortyseven: It BSODs while its loading loading the setup info. Im gonna run the install again so I can get the exact error. At first it was saying that it had a problem with the CMOS but I had to send it back to HP and they installed another Motherboard.

I can't remember is XP upgrade will take switches ?? setup /ie /im /is /iv.

At this point Windows setup is loading all necessary info into memory so a BSOD, in my experience, normally indicates a RAM problem.

Ive changed the ram with my other a6750 and I have no problem using it on that machine with out a hiccup... Im gonna reformat the drive again and try to install.

Ok.. I tried to Upgrade my Vista Laptop (to see if there was a problem with my install disk) and it work with out a problem. Now the HP pc...bsod right after it loads all the files. it doesnt get to the screen where it ask if you want to install, repair or quit...

my next course of action is to Reformat the drive and change all the ram with my the other HP and see if that will finally get this very expensive paper weight to become productive.

Ok... so I was talking about this issue a few times with a few of my tech friends and they suggested that it might have something to do the raid configurations... does that makes sense and if so where do i get a hold of such. Due to a 3hr Time difference Im gonna have to wait to Monday to get a hold of him again (Seattle... go figure!) so if anything comes to mind itll be greatly appreciated,...

I don't really play with RAID, but MS should excel at corporate/workstation/server install. Anything non-standard can be an issue.
