Question How to fix this sound recording *scratch sound* ?

Ok, this is my problem.. at about 00:04 you hear this scratch sound.. I don't know what causes it..

I hear it no matter what sound recording software I use.

My sound card is an ESS 1969 PCI AudioDrive.

Is this a low latency audio interface? Most likely, this is the problem. YOu need a real deal, low-latency audio interface for recording.

Hmm. Can you elaborate on what that means? I'm not up to par on what your description means. I was using Camtasia Screen Recorder and FRAPS aswell.

Oh, okay. In that case your soundcard should not have anything to do with it.

This is almost definitely an internal computer / software issue. What's your CPU load at when are capturing wtih Camtasia.

My CPU usage is only 20 percent usage when capturing with Camtasia and it only takes 18MB of ram out of my 512

Hmm. You've got me. I wish I could be more help, but this is more of a Camtasia specific issue than an audio recording issue.

But the thing is it's not just a Camtasia issue. It's an issue over ANY sound, screen, video recording device. Anything and everything is affected.
At first I thought it was a sound card issue.. but now I'm wondering if it's old Ram, or an old HDD that needs to be replaced.

Interesting. You've got me. The normal audio recording rules don't apply in your case. Usually latency is the cause of audio problems, but that doesn't apply here.
