Default firebox and external hard drive

I was wondering If I could "daisy chain" my western digital drive through my firebox interface (via firewire).I now have a usb2.0 cable running to the WD,...reason, my only firewire port is taken by the firebox, using it for file backups only. I was hoping to have a firewire connection go to it, and run my vst's from the WD instead of my cpu.maybe this is just total blasphemy and I should just breakdown and put a esata port on my cpu.If at all this is possible which order?

Hi there, i think you should be able to daisy chain you firebox and your external harddrive.
Im pretty sure i read that you can do it with no problems in my firestudio manual.

you would plug your firebox into your computer via the FireWire cable and then the external into your firebox via another fire wire cable.I will just take a look at my manual to make sure im not lying to you..

1 moment please.....

From Presonus FireStudio manual
Quote:
Use the 'extra' FireWire port to connect additional firewire devices to your computer (such as external hard drives, etc)
Yeop so it should go like this:

External FireWire Hard Drive - - [FireWire Cable] - - Firebox - - [FireWire Cable] - - Computer
