Unhappy Cannot open Audio / MIDI preferences in OS X

Hi everyone!

First of all, my sincere aplogyse for my english. It's a long time since I last wrote in english, but I'll try to explain myself the best i can...

I bought an Alesis IO 14 and one day, driver begun to fail. I cleaned it, and tried to reinstall it but programs did not work any more.

They say there's a conflict with Driver and MIDI components. Then I try to open Audio/Midi Preferences (I work with a Mac G5 PPC) and in doesn't open anymore, displaying another error message saying (more or less)

"...Can't open MIDI server, so you won't be able neither to see or edit your midi preferences...

Midi drivers with code errors may not allow midi server to open. Remove and reinstall driver. If it doesn't work, please contact manufacturer.

I've tried all of these advices and nothing works: I remove and reinstall the driver and I still can't open midi preferences nor even run any recording software.

I've contacted Alesis with no response...

Any help, please?

THANX!
