I'll just describe it(the prob.): I have a recorded drum track placed in the multitrack.(locked in place on trak 1) I track the bass onto track 2. On playback, the bass track starts out in sync., but slowly speeds up(maintains pitch). By the end of 4-5 min's, the bassline is 2-3 whole seconds ahead of the drums. What causes this? Please help! (btw...I recently switched from onboard sound to a $30 creative (audigy) soundblaster soundcard.) Thanks. C.Axten |

WHat version of Audition do you have? I have seen that happen on 2.0. What it means is that you bass track is out of sync with the drums. You have to use th e move/drag tool to get it in sync.

Thanks for the reply cybercat, but that's not the problem with the bass track. I knew that the track could be moved to line it up with the drum track already. The problem is that the new track slowly condenses its self so that the first 25-30 seconds are in sync with the drums, but then the bass notes slowly start coming in earlier and earlier in relation to the drum parts. It's as if the space between notes gets smaller and smaller over time... as if the empty space between notes isn't recorded fully. I have been using the same copy of Adobe Audition 1.5 (ancient, I know) for some years now, and I haven't seen this problem until I changed my soundcard. I'm curious as to what type of internal adjustment(s) I have to make. Thanks for the effort though. I appreciate you taking time to try. Axten |

I, too, use Adobe Audition 1.5 and would love an answer! This has been screwing up progress for a while now...! Any help would be greatly appreciated! (This forum is cool, by the way. Nice place.) |

Anyways, i did the same thing you did. I checked a box that said "Correct for drift in recordings." However, by recording a metronome twice, on 2 separate tracks, i could still see a maximum delay of about 6ms after about 3:45 of clicks. Is this 6ms drift normal? Or is there something else i need to address also. BTW, i've been using an M-audio fastrack pro into a dell studio 1535. |

I am, by no means, a pro at this. I just happened to find a solution to my problem. If it's getting off time it COULD be a problem of your processor.(?) Try closing all other programs and getting your RAM use as low/little as possible. Worth a shot.. |
