Is there a specific mic for this program?
I downloaded "cool edit pro" a couple weeks ago and just started to try and record. Im using a Gigaware USB mic but when i try and record nothing shows up on my monitor. I saw a story similar to this on the net, Do i need i diferent mic to record??

Is your sound card set up with cool edit? make sure when you look at cool edit thru the multi track view that your sound card is the output/input source(click on a track and see what the input/output source says). What kind of sound card are you using?Does it have a front interface?or just an interface on the card itself?
