Default Redo function? + Cut problem

I have deleted a take, using CTL + Z (Undo recording). Now If I want to redo the move? I've seen in the Edit menu there is no function to do this.

Also, when I select a part from the wave view, and I use the cut function, I get the part moved by itself. And I need to leave it where it is. Maybe I'm not so clean, but my english isn't so good!
For example, I have a voice track and I want to remove and clean the parts where I'm not signing. If I select them (eg: from 00.01.01 to 00.01.40) and I press cut.. then the part on 00.01.40 became 00.01.01!

Bump. I still doesn't understand. Sometimes when I press CTRL + Z I get my latest track deleted but then I can't find the Redo function on the popup menus.

You need to use the mute function instead of the cut function if you want to silence a section. Otherwise, in the multitrack view, just highlight the section you want to silence and hit the 'delete' key. The cut function will shorten the whole file.

there shoudl be a copy function that leaves it
if its windoze compatible try ctl-c to copy
ctl-v to paste in new place
ctl-x to delete

cut will remove it as you discovered
