Default MX12 & AA 2.0 Latency

Greetings All -
To start with, I enjoy all the helpful comments and reads on this site. 'preciate it!
This is my problem: no matter what I try, I can't get the buffer size lower than 512 on AA 2.0 with MX12 USB mixer. And really, for it to work without snap, crackle and pop, it needs to be set to 2048, which creates extreme latency.
I have a 2.66GB CPU w/1GB RAM, XPPro and programs on a 80GB HDD and Sound Files on a 250GB SATA. The machine is dedicated only to recording, all non-essential services are disabled.
I am recording alright, but it is a real hassle to have to stop and align every single new track I add!
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks in Advance,
- T

I had latency issues when i was trying to record straight to my soundcard...i done some reading and heard about asio4all...i tried it and it fixed my problem...you might want to read up about it and see if you think it will help your situation.. you can get it here ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver
hope this helps..

Thanks, but I've tried the asio4all, and it looks like it works, but doesn't allow any recording or playback with the multimix12usb.
But I do appreciate any and other thoughts!

Talking Re: MX12 & AA 2.0 Latency

Happy New Year!
Thought I would give an update on my post. I found this Asio driver that works GREAT and illiminates almost all the latency issues. If I do several VST processes on several tracks, I get the "jitters" and have to make adjustments. Other than that, I am way happy with the discovery and thought some others might want to give it a try.
ASIO2KS - Generic ASIO driver for WDM soundcards.
