Monitoring Live Vocal Track in Adobe Audition 1.5

Hi Everybody!
This is my first post.
I am not seeing a way to monitor through headphones my live vocal track. I want to monitor what I sing and also hear the effects live also.
For the time being, I am using headphones with an attached mic (Microsoft Lifechat LX3000) through a laptop USB port. It sounds pretty good during playback. I just need to be able to hear it as I sing.
What do you recommend to accomplish this.
Also, can I tune a guitar with Audition?

you can use this vst for tuning..ever since i found it, thats the only way i tune up now.

I assume you interface the guitar with your computor and do it online?
I have not yet hooked guitar up to computer.
What do you recommend as best method to interface?

If you want to get into home recording, at least get the bare-bones set up I have.

An audio interface you can plug mic's into, that will allow you to monitor your currently-recorded track, as well as the playback mix.



When recording vocals, I simply record while listening to the playback by plugging headphones into the front of the audio interface.

Thats a pretty impressive setup you have there.
I am getting a Focuslite LE for the audio interface. It has preamps, so hopefully its preamps will be adequate for me. Hopefully the Adobe Audition will suffice as a mixer and also be adequate as software. I have a vintage 1976 Gibson G3 Grabber Bass.
