Mic not working :(

Well, I'm newish to the site, and my Logitech USB microphone wont record a thing. When I have record on and talk through it, the meters say there's noise comin through, but nothing is being recorded. Please help?

Welcome! In addition to record-arming the track, you have to hit record/play on your transport.

If you're getting a signal to the DAW then the mic is working. Check DAW settings (faders, arming, input, output, etc).

I'm only new to the site. Not to recording. I let my brother bring my microphone to his friend's house, and when I got it back, my computer won't record it. I tried again today, and now it's sorta working. Not as good as when I was recording songs with it, but it's picking up voice(barely)

Yeah, that was my question. I'm not familiar with USB mics. I'm just wondering if you're getting a good level signal to the sound card and DAW.

well.......duh !!!!!!!!
either your brother or his friend futzedup your mike

tell him it doesnt work anymore
ask him waht he did to it

i suspect they dropped it
and you have a loose connection inside
that might be intermittent with high resistance contact now

think about it
what changed
your pc is the same
connections to pc same
only thing changed si the mike went away okay
and came back not okay
so what needs fixing ???
