Question Keep Recording in Background

Hi all...

I do voice work for TV and radio. Have been using Audition since it was Cool Edit but can't figure this one out in 3.0. My computer also has the Vista OS.

It won't record in the "background"...if you will. I used to be able to start a track recording and open another window (example: a document that contains the ad copy for the spot I'm doing...or the video player for playback while I record the voice-over for it) and just let it roll. Now, it stops both playback and record the minute a new window is opened.

I've looked at everything in the preferences window...I can't see anything there.

Anyone else had this problem? What am I missing?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks~
Les

You need to make sure that Adobe is not releasing the asio driver in the background when another window is popped up.

Here's a link from adobe that should help:
Adobe Audition 3.0

Not that problem, but I wont use son of bob aka vista

If it used to work, then something changed.
Did you do ***anything*** no matter how insignificant you think it was?

Could billyG have forced in some updates to your pc.
That often changes settings as well as how things work.

Can you open that window then start up the recording instead of the other way around?
