Default How do I record multiple tracks simultaneously?

hey yall

i'm wondering what i need to record more than one track at a time?

i currently have a 6 channel mixer lined into my pc (on board soundcard). what i want to be able to do is have 2+ mics recording at a time, but want to be able to arm a track for each mic (so i can edit them individually).

what software/hardware do i need to make this possible?

cheers

You'll need a proper multichannel interface and some DAW software.

Audition will work. DAW is a Digital Audio Worstation, like Audition.

How many inputs do you need for your interface?

the firepod comes highly recommended for beginers. After that you'll need a drum mic kit, probably run you around $400.

you need many TRACKS not just inputs
unless you are going to mix and balance live
instead of in the daw

the mfgrs say they have inputs
which means they have a place to make a connection
the number of inputs you can use is often a lot less
