I just loaded Adobe Audition 1.5 on my laptop and when i try to record a vocal track there is a massive amount of background noise/hiss that sounds more like wind blowing in a hurricane and I have tried recording in a quiet closet and I have the same problem, I am using a TASCAM mic with 1/4 inch adapter right into the laptop....WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? PLEASE HELP!! Do I need to sync my mic with adobe? is it my soundcard??

It that's not an option, it sounds like your soundcard is using way too much gain. Can you turn the mic input down? If so, what happens? Is this a dynamic microphone? A condenser will require phantom power. Brandon |
