3) What do you love about the program you currently use?

I do not want this particular thread to be a discussion. I simply want people to list why they use their current program. Feel free to create a spinoff thread to discuss each program. If necessary.

Hello Brandon,
I have some questions about Plugins that will work with Cool Edit 2, the recording software I use! I have tried some of the demo plugin's out there, and Cool Edit has not been able to see any of the one's I have tried. I know my software is older, but I am hoping someone will be able to help me find some software plug in effects that I can use with Cool Edit 2
Thanks for the help!
All me Best!

Corby, I know you're used to Cool Edit 2 but that is EXTREMELY old, you'll need a time machine LOL. Adobe turned Cool Edit Pro into Adobe Audition in 2003, time for you to move on.

I recommend either upgrading to Adobe Audition and hopefully some of the features will be similar to what you're used to. I'm not a fan of the User interface personally.

Or, check out Reaper, it's free to try. REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits I've been using it a lot lately, because it uses hardly any CPU and opens instantly, I can set up to record an idea in 5 seconds flat.

Sonar_Home Studio 7 is another easy to learn, easy to use, and inexpensive option.

Thanks Edub, for your input. I use Cool edit pro, and I really like it. I was looking to be able to use plug in's, but it seems hard to find one's that work!
I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing the way I do it!

What kind of plug ins where you looking for? mastering, effects, compressors? for all the different plug ins that i have on various software they all seem to intermingle with cool edit. I like the wave diamond bundle(even tho i still don't know how to use it correctly lol) there's just so much thats within that bundle it can do just about anything. I will check out your music and get back to you! I also have a song in the bash page(hip hop/r&b) and im still struggling with mixing.

Thanks again Edub. I was looking for a vocal harmonizer, to help with the vocals I do on my site! Most of the bells and whistles with Cool Edit 2 are enough for me. Just wanted to see what was out there that would help me with my tunes, vocally!
All me Best, let me know if you were able to check out me tunes!

Thanks so much for your help Edub,
I'll give it a go to find the autotune. If you come across any other's that might work, let me know. I'll looking for a decent harmonizer for the vocals!
All me Best, and thanks again! I'll checkout your tune. Let me know if you have anyothers posted. I'll be putting up a bunch more on me site soon!
Peace

In all my years of using Cool Edit and Audition, I've never had any problems with plug ins. Its always worked as well as any other app out there.
You say you have tried many demo plug ins and few have worked correctly. Which ones exactly? How have you gone about using them. Im interested.

Thanks Forty Seven,
I'll send the the particulars, I was trying to download, and use a vocal harmonizer plug in, to help my vocals, etc. I downloaded it, and Cool Edit did not seem to recognize it, so I then deleted the plug in. I will go looking again and get you the particulars, what software, etc!
I thank you for your interest, and help, very much! I enjoy using Cool Edit, it has worked well for me so far! The plug in scene is very new to me, but I am always trying to check what's going out there, to the best of me ability!
Thanks again!

All me Best!
