Default Audition and midi drums

Hello all, I had posted this in the mid forum but I didn't recieve a response so I figured this may be the place to post it. I have just begun recording music. I picked up Adobe Audition 3 a few days ago and I spent a day recording a cover of one of my favorite metal tunes Zombie Inc. by In Flames. It was going fine but all the while I wasn't sure what to do about drums. I thought about EZdrummer but read a lot of things stating it was not compatible with Adobe Audition so I used my old copy of Guitar Pro.

Hopefully someone else has tried this before because I am pretty confused. Here is what I did: I made the drum and Bass tracks from Guitar Pro that I wanted to mix with my own recorded guitar and vocals in Audition. So I inserted a midi track into Audition, then exported the file from Guitar Pro as a midi track and opened the newly exported midi track into Audition and when I get it to play it does NOT sound anything like the midi that I exported. I am rather confused as to why if my standard exported midi can play the correct way through say windows media player why it will not in a 300 dollar program like Adobe Audition. I am guessing i need to get some add on to get it to play right? Hopefully. If anyone could help a confused recorder in need that would be great. Thanks in Advance

it sounds like it could be a couple of things i.e is the bit rate the same, is audition set up correctly with the same bmp pitch etc as the sample. try saving the drums as a wav file 44.1K 16 bit ( i use cool edit, auditions older brother) see if that works but always set up your sequencer before any work is done.
