Default Audition 3.0 & Tascam's US-1641 Opinions?

I am new to the forum and appreciate everyone’s efforts to build this resource. I hope I will be able to contribute in a positive way.

My new home based project studio is in its early build phase and I plan on using Audition 3.0 with either Tascam's US 1641 or the M-Audio Delta 1010LT PCI card(s). I am leaning towards the Tascam I/O with hopes they will release a driver that allows two to be used at a time though the single 16 track unit will be sufficient for awhile. Line 6’s TonePort KB37 for guitar effects and the use of their VST effects in Audition. At this point I agree that an analog or digital mixer is not required though there is value in the ‘appearance’ of a nice 24 or 48 track board in one’s studio. Throw in some good mics and good room acoustics, some sound proofing and a good set of monitors (maybe Behringer’s Truth Monitors), a mixer based headphone monitoring system with talk back for the artists and I should be good to go. I will build a custom Windows XP Pro based PC with a set of large LCD monitors to run all of this on. Add a fridge full of beer, wine and bottled water and a cupboard full of munchies. What do you think?

Thanks for the replies, I think?!? I was hoping someone out there had a Tascom running with Adobe Audition. Anyway, the beer will be Bud and Coors and the wife insists on Michelob. And we are located in Turtletown TN. Ok, for those of you say WHAT? We are just north of Ducktown.

I am expanding my videography and photography business to include project recording here the Appalachian Mountains. I have been doing some on location recording for a couple of years now and the local market appears to be ready for a small music studio service so I am going to give it a try. But before I build this out I was looking for some experienced opinions on this mix of software and hardware. Thanks everyone.
