Default Recommendations on a better sound than this one.

Hi I mixed this drum track together a long time ago and to be honest I haven't picked up many extra tips on how to make better drum tracks, apart from getting better samples. Could a more experienced sound engineer/aficionado give me pointers and tips on what they think is missing/good about the sample. I would use a plug in in Audacity called "Dj Eq" which allows me to change the low, mid and high frequencies up or down.

Please be aware I'm doing all of this exclusively by ear, I'm not sure about what to do except the following,

Bass Drum: Lower the high eq a lot, keep the mid pretty prevalent and low reasonably high.

Toms: Somilar to the Bass Drum but more high eq and less low eq.

Snare: keep the high eq and the mid fairly high, lower the low mid a bit.

Hi Hats (open and closed): Take the mids out a lot, keep the high eq high and the low eq low.

Cymbals: Similar to the Hi Hats except a bit more mid in to distinguish.

NOTE: Should you all give me some excellent advice I'll upload the piano track that acompanies it afterwards to get further pointers on eq'ing and mixing it, hopefully achieving some excellent music

Said nicely: that sounds pathetic. Sounds like an auto-accompaniment module on a home organ from the '70s.
Get better samples, only EQ the kit as a whole, program some different velocities (esp. on repeated notes) and adjust note placements for a less robotic feel. Go easy on EQ in general. A little compression over the top for now to hear how it's going to work in the mix. It may be not be compression you'll actually use but will steer you in the right direction.

Leave this alone, you are getting very bad answers with it. Learn to use a basic 4-5 band parametric EQ.
