I'm not trying to be a pain because I'm seriously interested in the results of this test, but the reason it's better to name it a random name and not "clipA" and "clipB" is because they don't always show up in the right order and people vote for the wrong one. Notice that clip B is the first one.

Also, it's better to not explain what the differences are. Show 2 clips and give no information. Let people decide on their own what sounds better without being given preconceived notions.

. I don't know what the hell you guys are listening on, but theres a very noticeable HISS on the bottom one. Cross check it with some decent headphones or something. I can't be the only one who picks up high freq hiss with their ears.

wow, you didn't give it much time before you spilled. If it's noticeable, people will notice it. That's the whole point of blind tests.

Also, the purpose of asking other people is to find out if other people can hear it, not to confirm what you already think you hear. If you want real results, do a real poll. Follow the audio skeptics society guidelines that Brandon put up and let people vote. Let it run for a week before posting results. If people can hear it, the poll will show it. If they can't hear it, the poll will show it.

Based on these mp3's I'd say you're being over critical. I'll believe you that it's noticeable under certain listening environments but it's not something that anyone (other than you) is going to care about, especially in a mix.

You're right, I can barely notice any difference blind on my PC speakers. I notice it terribly on my 280pro's, but most people aren't going to listen to music on reference headphones.

I have some Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones. I love them for tracking (very little leakage) but I can't mix on them to save my life. They are not the most balanced sounding phones. To my ear they tend to accentuate certain things and de-emphasize other things in a way that makes for bad translation to speakers. This all became really clear to me when I picked up some HD 650's. Now when I listen to a mix on my 280's I think "yuck".
