Default Mic and preamp test

Hello to everyone.
So while I had some time to waste, or just some time, I did a test of all my crappy mics through my crappy preamps.
I don't really know how this would help anybody but me, anyways...
Basically here's the setup.
I took all 11 of my budget mics and put them through the 2 preamps I have.
Preamps for the first 11 are from my Behringer Euordesk SL3242fx-pro mixer and the second 11 are from my M-Audio Omni i/o breakout box.
Both were recorded to a Delta 66 with Cubase SX3.
The only time I adjusted gain or levels was when I recorded the condensers.
No eq, no nothing.
Here's a list of the mics
1 Brite Sound SE-606 uni-directional dynamic microphone
2 Hisonic HM-68 cardioid uni-directional low imp 600ohm dynamic microphone
3 Dixon MD1178 600ohm unidirectional dynamic microphone
4 Peavey PVi uni-directioonal cardioid microphone
5 Audio-Technica ATM41a unidirectional dynamic microphone made in Taiwan 1
6 Audio-Technica ATM41a unidirectional dynamic microphone made in Taiwan 2
7 Audio-Technica ATM41a unidirectional dynamic microphone made in Japan
8 Shure SM54 150ohm cardioid dynamic microphone
9 AKG D125 200ohm cardiiod dynamic microphone
10 Behringer C-2 small diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone 1
11 Behringer C-2 small diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone 2
12 Neumann TLM 103 large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone

The first 11 are through the behringer the next through the Omni i/o.
I can't explain the hum/noise on the first two mics through the omni, maybe it doesn't like the cheapness of them. although they sounded "fine" on the behringer.
Hope I haven't wasted your time, and please excuse the pasties.
Oh yeah I got the idea from another website when I find the link I'll let you know. <edit> ,woops the site was here lol look below. </edit>

You have the most extremely articulate voice I have ever heard in my life!

Thanks for the post. You have a VERY interesting selection of mics. I've not used ANY of them.

Thanks for your time and effort ... some people think all mikes are about the same, its a great intro for us newbies to be aware of microphone choice is important and each mike has its own character, glad to know the texture of each mike can be subtle between each brand or totally tonally different. To read on reviews how they sound, I can only use my own imaginenation but to audition a few samples is an experiance.

A privillage for those stuck in a small country town. Now I have a starting point, i can now Google the mikes you listed to check out the various types, price point, reviews and if they still exist on the market. When I do walk into a store I have a clearer picture what i am chasing. Only if the online net stores done what u done with male / female vocals would would help narrowing selection(s) before you step it to try it.

I'm glad you guys found it useful.
I'll try to add some more samples soon, and maybe break them up in to individual files for easier a/bing.
