I was messing around with my Schecter 7-string guitar and my TriAxis. It's late at night right now so I had to go direct-in to my PC and out the studio monitors. I must say, I got some recording-worthy tones out of this combination! I posted the earlier home-made impulse thread and Brandon requested some rhythm clips instead of the lead clip I posted. I was too lazy to go back and fix this until tonight when I was just screwing around and recording. Sorry Brandon! Hope this helps: Here's a clip. <whine>The playing in the clips is a bit sloppy. The strings on the V7 are so old and rusty and I haven't taken good care of the instrument, almost to the point of neglect. Also I'm not feeling the greatest and my fingertips are raw; not good for sliding/shaking.</whine> What's going on here is: Schecter Diamond V7 series crap guitar -> TriAxis v1.0 (w/ EuroTubes' high-gain re-tube package) -> Stereo direct outputs (not record emulation) -> USB 2.0 EDIROL UA-1000 1/4" stereo input pair -> [Gain knob for input pair at 1/2 level on my EDIROL UA-1000] AmpliTube 2 using THIS PROGRAM with THESE IMPULSES So essentially I have my TriAxis preamp feeding straight into AmpliTube 2 running a power amp section, speaker convolver, stereo spread, and reverb in that order. I have provided you the AmpliTube 2 program file and the impulse files I like to use. I used three distinct patches on my TriAxis for all the tones you hear. The main dirty rhythm that sounds like a recto is: LD2 RED mode G: 7.5, T: 5.0, M: 6.0, B: 2.0, D: 7.5, M: 4.5, P: 7.0, V: 4.5 The main lead tone is very **** (apparently w-a-r-m is a 4-letter word on this forum lol) w/ a Line 6 DL4 ping-pong delay in FX loop: LD2 GREEN mode G: 8.0, T: 3.0, M: 7.0, B: 3.0, D: 9.0, M: 4.5, P: 6.5, V: 6.0 The softer rhythm tone (less edgy) is: LD2 YELLOW mode G: 7.5, T: 3.0, M: 6.0, B: 3.0, D: 9.0, M: 4.5, P: 0.0, V: 7.0 Most of the magic is in the AmpliTube 2 program I designed above. I made a few tweaks behind the scenes to the Kitty power section and used a MESA 4x12" SM57 cab speaker impulse which I love. I employed the 7ms stereo channel delay trick to get a wide and clear stereo image out of an essentially mono input signal. Of course, while recording, nothing beats doubling the track up yourself if you can do it, but this is nice in live-performance scenarios where you'd probably be feeding a stereo PA system from your PC or something.
