Default Christmas Song...Cradle in Bethlehem

Recording vocal to background track........working on geting better vocal mix....This vocal was done in one take with no reverb in the headphones and in a small vocal booth, all making it necessary to concentrate at relying on getting the real vocal to sound as naturaly as right as possible first without having to rely on too many other things to fix and repair it aftwards.
Doesn't always turn out that way though

great voice you'd always get your best take without reverb in the monitor mix. many vocalists would disagree but, that's my experience. it's just easier to hear wut ur really singing and with the music down, a vocalist can really work their "instrument" as it were. focus. then you'd add the reverb in the post -to taste.

Thanks...for me I had to work my butt off at first. The first time someone had me record that way I admit I was a bit apprehensive but I had to admit, ....doing so revealed all of my laziness that a person can hide behind (when they're not performing live)..... and forced me to "listen" with my ears and heart together in order to try to convey the sound I "really" intented to produce outward from within.

Singing without reverb of any type sucks.

I don't need effects when I record vocals, but I still need the natural reverb I get around me when I do project myself. Singing into a vacuum is not natural, so is no fun and all, and still could stunt the performance.

Nice vocals on the track
