Question Sample Rate Issues After Bouncing

i just bought a digi 003 and the presonus digimax D8 and I recorded some tracks successfully and had a good mix going and the song sounded fine during the bounce but when i play the wav file back in itunes or anywhere else it sounds slow and out of tune, i have both the lightpipe and the BNC connected between the 2 units and my clock source was set to optical and ADAT inside the session, but anytime I try to set it to word clock (which was a suggestion from another engineer) it automatically reverts to internal and I get an error message saying the clock source is invalid and is reverting to internal. I tried just about every combination of sample rate and bit depth during the bounce and also tried seeing if there was a difference between converting during or after the bounce and still no change... can anyone help?

Thanks

C.H.

Heya

If it all plays back ok in Protools, then I dont think the issue is the syncing between the interfaces. When you're playing back the song its just reading files off the harddrive so the Digimax doesnt really have any bearing on anything during playback. If you bounce down to 44.1 kHZ, 16 bit, it should work (I'm guessing you've tried this though)

Are you using a PC or a Mac because on my Windows XP PC I cant get anything to play right in iTunes let alone my stuff. All works ok in Windows Media Player tho

im using mac, but i figured out that my session was set to 44.1 during the record and my digimax was set to 48 but im still having trouble. my next step was to open a session at 48 and import the audio files but the files are all chopped up from my edits 44.1 session i was mixing in. I was wondering if someone had a suggestion on how to import region groups because i tried that on my own and for some reason it was unsuccessful, maybe im missing a step in the process... thanks for the help!

ooooppppsss!!!......Dimestoreguitar88, you will need to set the recording sesion a the same with your digimax sampling frequency.......the adat and pro tools most be talking to the same velocity ALWAYS.

Opacheco.

Dimestoreguitar88, try using workspace to import those audio files. If you just drag and drop the 44.1 and 48 throws everything for a loop but if you use workspace I think it lets you convert.

Opacheco - I ran into a problem long ago like Dimestoreguitar88 and never really resolved it. Both the Digimax FS and 003 were set to 44.1. All lights go on the FS and set the internal software settings to wordclock. The FS and the 003 are happy together but only for a short while, sometimes less than a full session, (1-3hrs.)

I played around for a few weeks and ended up keeping it at the 003 internal setting. But if you have a suggestion or an answer then I am all ears.
