Default running out of cpu?

ok you pro tools users, finally my friend hooked up our main studio, as he opened pro tools le and ran a session he had made to test the midi i noticed an error message came up saying that he ran out of cpu memory? could his effects have done this? is there a way to either lock or freeze the effects so that they dont take up as much cpu to use like other daw's? were running two apple g5s .any suggestions would be great thanks in advance.

Pro Tools doesn't have a freeze function like you see in Logic for example. The only thing of this type is audiosuite, however this is a pretty lame excuse for track freeze.

You'll have to bus your tracks you want freezing to new audio tracks and then deactivate the track with the plug-ins on.
