Thumbs down Rewire Help!!!!!

I have read the other topics about this, but none seemed to answer MY questions...

I Still Am Not able to get my REWIRE to work. I seem to have it(Checked the folders) or at least a version of it. I am using Reason Adapted, I have Authorized it and everything, But REWIRE DOes NOT show up on my inserts in Pro Tools AT ALL!

Am I missing something to the COnnections???

I seem to be able to make XPAND work, and Reason works through my Computer(Mac OS/X) and what not...So Its not like the Program doesn't work.

I have NO Midi Out going from My DIGI002 to Anything. Just a MIDI into the Digi002 from the Keyboard Midi Out. I would HATE to hear that what was screwing it up the whole time! HAHA!

Oh And Hello by the way. First timer to this board.

Hi there. Welcome to the forum.

ReWire is not a plug-in. It is a technology used to allow two different programs to work together by 'rewiring' them together.

To get Reason to work in ReWire mode in ProTools, do the following:

1. Open a ProTools session.
2. Create an instrument track.
3. Insert Reason on the instrument track.

Reason should then open itself automatically in ReWire mode. The plug-in should say "Reason L-R", meaning the track is outputting the left and right outputs from Reason.

Not Happening. Reason does NOT show up at all. The Only Instrument PLUG IN i see is XPAND!
believe me I have tried that step a Million times.
Something somewhere is NOT registering!

I'm a Sonar user, but Reason doesn't come up under VSTs or conventional plug-ins. The menu trail for me is,

Insert>Rewire Device>Reason

Hope you have the same kinda parallels. Don't know about Macs, but with PC if Reason is installed on your machine, then your sequencer should find the relevant registry entries and detect it. Maybe you installed in a non-default location? (not familiar with Macs, but hope this information helps in some way)

Maybe, Its a New thing to add to the list of things I have gone through to figure out how this darn thing works! HAHHA!

I am just so confused on all of this! Dammit! HAHA!

So yeah, I think it HAS to be somewhere the DIGI Folders do NOT recognize the REASON folders or something to that effect.

Anyone else?

Go to Program Files>Common Files>Digidesign>DAE>Plug-ins, and check if 'DigiReWire.dpm' is there (should be .dpm.rsr too)

If not, have you tried a re-install?

Ah yea, that'll be windows,

Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-ins

Have you checked here? If the plug-in is listed I'm not sure what could be wrong.
