Default Reducing Latency from Roland V-Drums into PT8 running BFD2 RTAS

I am using my Roland TD-10 Vdrum Module to generate midi notes into PT8 with BFD2 running RTAS. However, it has about 10-20ms latency that is making it really hard to play real time with a click track. Has anyone had this problem? How did you solve it? Is there a better way? (using pads and sticks, not tapping them in)
Thanks in advance.

Hey F77,

I'm new here, but I assume PT8 is ProTools, and maybe you're using a Digidesign interface with Asio? I have a TD9 module going through an Emu 1616M with no appreciable latency, so maybe yuo have a few other channels going on other instruments causing the significant delay?

Xyrium,
You are right that I am on Pro Tools 8 using its firewire based interface. I don't know if PT can receive midi signals from other devices. If so, that might be a consideration.

I have found that turning the instrument channel completely down makes playing in time much easier. However, that makes it tough to know the feel of what I'm doing. I have been manually adjusting the volume on stray notes, but that's a drag. I hope there is a better way.

Hmm,, does the interface you are using have a soft limiter? I wonder if you're hitting the ceiling on it for some reason and it causes a delay. Maybe you can disable it and test.

Hey Formula. Did you ever solve your latency problem?
