Problems with playback sound on Pro Tools 8

ok we have done everything we can think of at this time, but whenever we try to play something back that we have recorded we have no sound. The monitors on the PT screen show that it is picking up the sound (and the obvious is that it is recognizing and recording the input) but its not sending anything back out. Any ideas? Suggestions? Do we have to set it up with its own speakers or what? (meaning speakers for the mbox2) This thing is getting frustrating . And we can't find anything in the manual about this.

the speakers or headphones need to be connected to the mbox.

Also the mix knob should be turned to the right so you can hear playback.

thanks dude. after about 2 hours of fiddling with it we finally figured it out lol. another thing we discovered is you have to be set to mono too. otherwise it doesn't pick anything up.

mono should be off unless you are direct monitoring.
