Pro tools and vista

Hello!

Am I understanding things right? Do I need to purchase Pro Tools LE 7.3 to then upgrade to 7.4 which will work with Visa? Also, if it works with Vista ultimate and business, does this mean it will work with vista premium as well?
The Digidesign site is a bit cryptic about it all...

Really, all I want is a good audio interface and software to start home recording using Vista (is that too much to ask?)
If not Pro tools then what???

I just bought a new Dell computer and since it only came with Vista, I had to upgrade to pro Tools 7.4.

I ended up ordering my Dell with Vista Ultimate just to be sure everything worked as it states on the Digidesign site (says it works with Business or Ultimate editions).

Everything worked out fine in the end. I really like the elastic audio feature that is new in 7.4.

I did buy Pro tools and was able to install it without trouble on VISTA premium. Now, I just have to learn to use it!!! I can't wait...

This book was awesome for teaching me how to use the different tools within Pro Tools. It gives you audio files on a CD so you can go through practical applications. I consider it a must have.

There are others in the series for mastering, editing, etc. I am going to order the mastering one this week.

7.4 is out and available today. If you buy a system today and it has 7.3 they would very likely upgrade you to 7.4 for free. I bought a 6.9 system when 7.3 was the latest and they upgraded me to 7.3 for free. I'd be surprised if they didn't do the same for you. Call customer support to be certain, or check at the duc forums.
