Pro Tools and Vista

Hey people..
I loaned my mbox mini w/ protools to my friend who has vista, but when he tries to install it says it needs to be done on windows XP with SP2. Does anyone know if there is any way to install it on vista?

What version of Pro Tools are you using?

The version is LE 7.2

I spoke to him yesterday and he said that he found out 7.4 would work with vista. Would that be a free download since i already bought the M-box?

No, not unless you bought the Mbox within the free upgrade period, but since 7.4 was released a few years ago now, and it was classed somewhat as a major upgrade, I'm not sure it still applies to that version. You may be better going to version 8 anyway as it is a major upgrade, but if you registered your version with Digi all the info should be available in your account, or contacting them should work.

I was using vista when i first bought pro tools. Back then all that was available in the shop was LE 7.3 no later. I had to ring digidesign to allow me to download 7.4 for free. So yeah vista will only take 7.4 or higher...
