DCstudio10 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Exclamation Playback Engine On Pt 8

O.K. so i have had PT for over 1 Month and i posted somthing on Mix This #4 now i want to go back on that sesion and when i press it to load it is showing nothing but the gray backround and a box saying "The current playback engine does not support a sample rate of 44.1 kHz" but get this i go on Setup>Playback Engine and try putting every thing to the max but the H/W Buffer Size gives me only one choice witch is "512 samples" when usialy i can make it more put not this time. this happed more then once on diffrent recording PLZ Help me.

I Have:
Pro Tools 8 M-powered
M-Audio Fire Wire Solo
1.97 GB of ram Intel Core 2 Quad SPU sevice pack 3 version 2002 XP

The sample rate is a different beast to the buffer size. 512 is the largest the buffer size can go on that software.

44.1kHz is your sample rate = your computer taking 44,100 measurements of the audio wave every second....basically. This is the rate/quality at which analog is changed into digital.

It sounds to me that you've recorded in a certain sample rate, for some reason the playback engine has changed to a different one.

Have you changed any settings in the audio interface lately? Check your audio settings in your operating system also.
