Pro Tools isn't any more or less advanced than any other good recording software. It sounds like you've picked the gear. Is it working correctly?
You are asking for help, but you really haven't asked any specific questions.

What are you trying to do? What problems are you facing now?

It's always best to read the manuals, go through tutorials, and follow the instructions from the manufacturer. You will save WAY more time this way. Whe things go wrong, forums like this exist.

Things that helped me learn how to use Protools...

1. DigidesignTV - A series of video tutorials on ProTools (and other products)
Digidesign | News | DigidesignTV | DigidesignTV

2. A book called "Mixing in Pro Tools" Author = Brian Smithers and published by Thompson Course Technology. It comes with a CD that has protools session files. It basically gives you mixes and then teaches you how to use the tools to "fix" them. For example it gives you a basic drum track and walks you through on how to use compression and EQ etc. to make them sound better.

3. A book called Pro Tools 7, the comprehensive guide. Author = Colin MacQueen with Steve Albanese. published by Thompson Course Technology. this is your basic start from basic tutorials with text and screenshots. This is where I started to learn the basics like how to make a recording etc.

4. Pro Tools Method One. A DVD that came with my Pro Tools set-up and it starts at the basics (how to record something) and goes into some more advanced functions.

Hi all...

Need help too. I just bought the Mbox 2 Mini Studio Bundle that came with Pro Tools LE 7.3 and some additional software. Found out that it does not work on my old Intel Celeron computer, so I did some research and got a used Power Mac G5 10.4.11 Tiger but at a still hefty price. Turns out that the 2 HDDs are RAID sets and PT does not support RAID!!! ARGHHH!!!

So... am thinking about getting an additional External HD now but not sure what will work and am tired attempting to research it myself since it's almost impossible to get ALL the limitations of PT. Very discouraging...

Any recommendations anyone?

Get a firewire external HD. Do not get USB. Even though you may find some USB 2.0 drives that report faster throughput, it does not work as well as Firewire and Digidesign does not support USB at all.
