Default Squirrel Baffled.....HELP!

So I got the MBox 2 Mini/Pro Tools LE 8 the other day and tried to install it on my Dell Inspiron Laptop, but as soon as I plug in the box I get the dreaded blue screen. I put the usbaudio.sys file on my desktop form safe mode (like the troubleshooting website said) and it still did not work. I have Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3. Can anyone please point me in the right direction, I am itching to start recording for my first time! Thank you very much.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1405 which is about 3 or 4 years old, but it is very fast and has tons of memory. 1.83 processor and a gig of ram (just ordered some more).

The folks at Pro Tools are very picky about what kind of computer that you put their software on. You may want to look at the Digidesign website to make sure your computer is compatible with Pro Tools. Do you know if your computer has integrated graphics, or does it have a separate graphics card. One easy way to know is if it has something about ATI Radeon or nVidia. You have to have a separate graphics card to run Pro Tools. I would start here Support & Downloads and look at everything on your computer and make sure that your computer is compatible with Pro Tools. I did a lot of research before I bought the Pro Tools setup. I'm interested to see what the issue is here, because I use Pro Tools on a XP laptop and have had no issues with it.

It's got Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 950 Graphics, is that no good?. One thing I did just find is that the USB ports have 4-pin connectors. I remember there was a yellow card in the box that explained something about if you haev a 4 pin connector you need a 6pin to 4pin cord or something. Sorry, Im a work and don't have anything with me. Do you know anything about this 4pin to 6pin thing? Thanks you!

But that's standard I might have upgraded to a legit graphics card, I bought it a long time ago I can't remember how I customized it. Ill check when I get home, but it won't work with the integrated card? If I do have integrated can I put a separate graphics card in there?

However, a 1.8ghz cpu is nothing for running PT, unless dual core. You may struggle with this system. And a gig of memory is not tons, only the bar minimum for Pro Tools.

Also you will need an external HDD, ideally 7200rpm, firewire, with a supported firewire chipset.

Post a Sandra Report for more help. (Google it)
