MBox 2 Pro NOT Outputting Audio, please help!

Every time I turn on my cpu, I need to unplug and re-plug the firewire 400 cable from my MBox 2 Pro to get the audio to be outputted. Even thought the light is on, it's being recognized as an audio device under system prefs and system profiler, it just won't output audio until I unplug/plug back in. I know that it will do this if the cpu sleeps, but I have never experienced it on startup until now. I have switched firewire cables and I have swapped firewire ports on the cpu. Is it a faulty MBox?? Do I need to reinstall PT?? I do have an external firewire 800 drive plugged in as well but can't imagine that is causing the problem. Any thoughts would be great

from my understanding the mbox 2 pro does not play well with FW800. so a search on digi's site about it, you'll see.
