mbox 2 to mbox 2 pro HELP!

hey everyone i'm pretty new to recording. i've done a lot of my own recording stuff through an mbox 2. i recently upgraded to an mbox 2 pro but when i open my sessions. it plays back with static. any help would be appreciated.

It sounds to me like your resolutions are different....Make sure that if you recorded in 44,000 khz 24 bit before (or whatever resolution) that your new sound card is setup the same.

What's good.... well it seems to me it might be a problem with the firewire chipset. If I recall right Mbox 2 is usb and Mbox 2pro is firewire... Now being since it is firewire its prone to the chipset issue that most interfaces suffer from where they don't play well with the fire wire chipset

Also make sure that its on seperate firewire bus then hard drives and other firewire devives.... Just because there's 1 port on the back and 1 on the front panel they are still on the same bus... try adding a pci (pcie) firewire card ( no usb/firewire combo) preferable Texus instrument chipset or VIA... No ROHC.

It's not sample rate, both devices support various sample rates and you can not manually change the sample rate. The sample rate is set when you create a new project and the mbox can not be set to anything other than that. Not possible.

Got your Air Port turned off?
Got automatic updates turned off?

And if you normally just close the lid to turn off your mac, do a real restart as the first step in troubleshooting.

hey guys i decided to return the mbox2pro. it just didn't like my PC/HACKINTOSH laptop. lol. i'll stick with my mbox 2. cheers to all who helped. i do plan on getting a 003 rack. hopefully it likes my laptop better.
