Default Line 6 UX2/Pro Tools using M Audio Delta 24/96 SPDIF connecting issues

Hi

I am trying to connect my Line 6 UX2 through to pro tools 8 so I record Audio. At present I have ux2 connecting to a M audio 24/96 Soundcard via SPDIF.

The Soundcard has a breakout cable with an in and out SPDIF. I have connected to the input of the SPDIF. I am not recieving any sound whatsoever even on the M audio control Panel.

I was told by UK Line 6 support it shuodl automatically work and the Soundcard would be the master and the UX2 we become the slave

Any Ideas?

When you go to the 2496 control panel SPDIF tab, do you see "Valid Input Detected" or "Invalid Or Not Present" in the Digital Input section ?

On the Hardware Settings tab in the Master Clock section select the SPDIF In button and it should show a Locked status.
Do this if you want the 2496 to be the master clock source.

In the Patchbay/Router tab H/W Out SPDIF select the WavOut SPDIF.
If the Monitor Mixer button is selected you will have to go to the Monitor Mixter tab and adjust your levels.

Also make sure that your sample rates between the two devices are the same value.

I know what you mean on here but because I have used the most up to date drivers the control panel is in a different format visually.

On the Hardware Settings tab in the Master Clock section select the SPDIF In button and it should show a Locked status.
Do this if you want the 2496 to be the master clock source.

The Synce source is locked on External SPDIF

In the Patchbay/Router tab H/W Out SPDIF select the WavOut SPDIF.
If the Monitor Mixer button is selected you will have to go to the Monitor Mixter tab and adjust your levels.

Just changed the output to mixer and now I am getting sound through to Monitors

Also make sure that your sample rates between the two devices are the same value. They are the same

So to recap:

I have the output of the Line 6 UX2 going to SPDIF IN and Audio out of the soundcard to the monitors and we have sound!!.

But...... This is only working when I launched "Gearbox" which is the standalone programme that enables all the sounds from the UX2 interface.

I have opened pro tools and selected an Audio channel, loaded Gearbox RTAS ( there are 2 options Gearbox mono/Stereo or Gearbox Mono - If I choose this one it totally crashs pro tools! )

So my problem is now no signal coming through pro tools on the mixer gauge.

We have made some progress

I can now recieve a signal from UX2 through soundcard to output of Monitors but now we have problem trying to get sound from pro tools.

Any ideas for this next step?

Thanks very much for your help by the way.

Wouldn't you want to select the m-audio drivers in protools and use the spdif inputs as inputs to your tracks ?
