Hey all!!! I am pretty new to all this and appreciate any help.
I have Pro tools M powered 6.8 I am going to start to use it as I have seen it being operated and like it. Ok here goes......... I have selected an mp3 to import........ I have opened a new session. Selected "Import audio to track" That takes me to a window labeled "click track songs" that lets me select and browse.. Even if I choose the click track songs it says they are unreadable by Pro tools. Ok, as I went back through the steps one step has since changed......... The first couple times I tried it tried to redirect me to purchasing something saying my demo mode for mp3 importing has expired. I went through that a couple times (without purchasing) and then went to post this and it skips that step and takes me to my mp3s but still says they are unreadable........... The reason I am starting pro tools in this step in the first place is because I have seen it done a few times and want to start in a familiar place. But the one I saw do it opened up the files with no prob. I hope I explained my problem. I know how to import It just isnt allowing me to..... Thanks for the help!!!!!! ![]() |

I think you have to buy an mp3 conversion thing for like $20 from Digidesign. What kind of mp3 are you trying to import? If its a song off iTunes or something, they have protection locks that won't let you open them in Pro Tools (can in Cubase though)

FYI Pro Tools LE requires you to purchase an MP3 option to EXPORT to MP3, not import.
If I buy a song that has DRM on it (security) I convert it to MP3 to get rid of the security and then it imports into Pro Tools just fine. Look into M-Powered and see if you have to purchase an MP3 option to import the audio. I have a feeling it is your software that is preventing you from doing it. |
