Default I want to cry or die because of plugins.

OK here is my situation. All day I'm watching everybody post their tracks for the killer guitar contest. I'm super excited to get home and try out some plugins. I get home and download the dirthead and aradaz white plugins. they are both dll and i have no idea how to make them work. i pasted them in the pro tools/common files/plugins folder but it doesnt work.

can anyone help me with this?

FACK!

thanks
nic

Pro Tools uses RTAS format plugins.

If you really want to try out those plugins and use them in Pro Tools it'll cost you $99.

You're better off getting Reaper demo and trying them out there.

can you shed some lite on the converter. I looked into it long ago and may be re-adressing it again shortly. Easy to use? No issues? Pretty straight forward?

It's great and worth the money.

No hesitations recommending it to others.

The adapter is annoying to me, it's not that user friendly, yes it does work, yes you don't need to often open the program again once you've got your favorites wrapped.

I suggested some changes to FXpansion but they ignored me.

As far as I know, they are not going to EVER improve the program.

Yea, it sometimes get's frustrating to use I agree. You can't even select more than one VST at a time. It's one or all.

I've been waiting for an upgrade, but fat chance that'll happen.

But the job that it does is good. And it's not badly priced either.

I honestly didnt think it was THAT bad. Select the folder where your plugins are in, wrap them, and then they are in pro-tools and work fine.

You actually can choose just a few, go through the list, set the wrap box from NO to YES then click the big button on the top left.

I NEVER wrap all my VSTs, for 1 PT seems really buggy with a lot of VSTs, and 2 it takes a week for PT to start up with that many plugins in the folder.

The main gripe is that while there are those categories in the list, you can't sort them AT ALL. Its just really clunky overall.

It will not be updated for VST3 either. Pretty lame, but maybe when the RTAS code gets its overhaul in the next year (hopefully), then we'll see an update from FXPansion.
