Remove some RTAS plug-ins or increase the CPU usage limit in the play back engine dialog " I removed as much RTAS as possible i also used audiosutie as much as possible. I increased it to %99 and still got the stops Here is a pic link of play back engine play back engen picture by DCstudio10 - Photobucket and one of the message play back engen picture by DCstudio10 - Photobucket

You brought your samples up? Try 1024. Not 128. Scale your CPU usage to 90-95%. And if you have to, try dropping a core. I know it sounds retarded, but just give it a shot.

If your at 99 you are taking away from other resources. Trust me, you don't need 99, it's actually hurting you. A core would be one of the processors. I've read on the DUC that dropping a core can actually help out with RTAS, CPU and Buffer problems. It only takes 1 minute to try and could solve your problem, so it's worth a shot. And don't bother questioning the logic in that scenario, you'll never find it but if it works, it works!

Are you running a Mac with multicore? If so , how many Cores? Try reducing your core usage. If you have two cores, use one. Did I say that right? Disk

He's using windows xp!! Are you running any other programs in the background like an antivirus or spyware programs? It really helps to disable anything else running on the pc while using pro tools. Also are you using an external hard drive? If not get one fast!! 1.97 of RAM is ok to run pro tools but when you get deeper into recording your mix you're soon needing alot of plugins such as reverbs, compressors, gates ect....these will eat up your RAM. We all have to use plugins for different instruments and it would be hard to complete, mix and master a song without them. My advice get more RAM. If you cannot upgrade the RAM on your PC. Invest in a new system with a good processor and as much RAM as you can afford. It'll be money well spent. MAke sure too that youre adjusting the track limit to whatever the lenght of the song is. You can find this in the preferences menu.. Gar |
