Firwire SOLO is not recognized by windos XP

I am using a firewire solo with windows XP SOLO is pluged in my computer and is powered buy the firewire the blue light bulb is on. It tells me that the compute is not recognizing the m-audio hardware. I restarted my PC two million times and forestalled the driver two billion times what do i do i have the latest driver

trying to think here ........... does the interface have a power cable? is it plugged in ? .....are you connected to the firewire bus on the pc? ..........Did you install exactly as the manual told you too?

Yes, but no the manual told me not to plug it in. and yes again, also yes i did every thing the manuel i will just call maudio but thak you
