EQIII is very good. It is a very simple but effective eq. Great on system resources too. If you want something with a bit more colour then you'll need to look elsewhere, however it works perfectly fine for the usual job, especially if you're new to EQ'ing.

I know my friend has many waves plugins but he always uses the stock ones on his recordings and he is amazing. Those are all i use now and if you work with them you can get any sound you want. I used the API, SSL and v series plugins at my dads house they are much easier to tweak if you ask me plus they come with a ton of presets to start out with and tweek from if you are just starting out. I would have to say the API 560 and the SSL channel are my favorite plugins for eq. I plan on getting either the api bundle or the ssl bundle at some point.

There was a shootout around here of all kinds of EQ plugins. I have little trouble hearing differences in preamps and converters generally and I couldn't give a damn less about the tiny differences in the various EQ plugins. It's infinitely more important to develop your skill in using the EQ gadget. Brandon |

EQIII is really good. Its very vanilla which makes it perfect for clinical EQ but if you want more flavour, the Joe Meequalizer is fantastic. Everything just sounds better through it. Very musical but you wont be notching out any problem frequencies with it! I like the T-Racks Classic EQ too Hope that helps a bit |

I use the eq III 7 band a lot in PT8.The Oxford eq is nice on strings and hi hats.I like the JJP Pultec on electric guitars, the ssl 4k channel strip is awesome for kik drums, the UAD cs-1 is a great eq tool. They all have there own flava, colour, sound.

Bah! I'm a small bit jealous Rocker Guy! I wish I had UAD stuff... :-) An EQ's an EQ I guess but, as I'm sure you know yourself, its quite cool to plug one in and get a touch of, yes, I'll say again, flavour. Doesnt really mater tho, cos if u have a semi-half decent mic and spend 10 mins placing it u wont need so much EQ. Not always possible or appropriate maybe

I really like the EQIII in pt8, it's incredibly accurate so if you've got a rough idea what you're doing you can generally reach a decent sound in no time at all. My favorite is probably the Waves SSL G Channel EQ, it tends to colour the sound just a little bit & in my opinion it sounds really nice.
