Default can someone explain... auto read in Pro Tools?

Can someone explain the purpose of the auto read button on the mix window in Pro Tools LE. A while back I was fooling around with it and I thought that I hot the auto read button while I was adjusting the volume on each of the tracks and then when I mastered the final track the levels moved by themselves.

This was a while ago, the ldea seemed pretty cool. Can someone explain what the purpose of the auto read button and the steps in using it. I did this awhile ago, and can't remember what I did. Thanks!

Hi! Auto means that if you put your write automation and press start, the next thing will happen:

Let`s say that you want to put some automation on a vocal track, it`s -6dB and you want to rise to -3dB, then with a controller (like Behringer BFC2000) you rise the fader to -3dB and after certain amount of time (100ms in default mode), the automation curve will drop to -6dB automatically.. this method works well when doing retouches.

best regards.
