Post Using East West Orchestra with Sonar 7 Producer Edition - track troubles!

I just got these two great programs at quite great expense to my poor wallet lol. I figured out how to use east west as a vst instrument and host it in Sonar, and i have succesfully recorded two MIDI tracks of violins. However, when i create another midi track and change the instrument to like a trumpet, it just changes all the other MIDI recordings of the violins to trumpets also. It's driving me crazy because it seems like such a simple problem i cant find the solution to!!!!

so basically, can someone tell me how to record the different instruments in different MIDI tracks in Sonar 7, through the VST East West Symphonic Library? *gold edition*

I just got a killer setup and im dying to make elaborate orchestral and guitar mixes with my new AT4033... id recomend it to anyone. Please help! Newbie in need!

The Kompakt player has eight slots. Are you loading up the violins in one and the trumpets in another? Once you've done that, assign a MIDI channel to each. Then in Sonar, assign the parts to the relevant MIDI channel.

thanks, i more or less knew thats what i needed to do but was unsure and since you confirmed that i looked extra hard and found it.

Also, do you or anyone else have good sonar 7 guitar templates? I've gotten a pretty good sound of a linear guitar lead, but if i play more bassy stuff the bass really hogs the sound. I am finding it hard to EQ and maintain a balance between brilliance and bass. So on that note, and EQ'ing tips for guitar?

thanks!

I recently got EWQLSO *silver edition* and I can't make a sound on sonar.
This seems prety dumb but I can assure you it's not. I know my way with plug-ins and MIDI, I've been using them forever and have found my way on many problems. But This thing is... %&/%$?!

Some information: 1) the channels and routing are fine, since the keyboard notes highlight normally in the Kompakt player when pressed; 2) the output meter stays on zero; 3) In the stand alone mode the EWQLSO works perfectly; 4) I also have Garritan's Orchestra which uses a similar player and it works perfectly; 5)for all that matters, all my plug-ins, soft synths, etc, work fine; I am using sonar 4 Producer edition.

Did anyone got a problem like this? I would really appreciate if someone could help!
Thanx!

Please, can you elaborate in more detail about your problem? Getting no sound in Sonar is kinda vague for everyone to offer you assistance. From the moment you inserted the EWQLSO soft synth into your project, what steps did you take up until the point where you expected to get sound from the soft synth? I'm sure I'm able to help you through this if you can divulge more info, so that I don't have to cover redundant information you do already know.
