Default Upgrade from Sonar 7PE to 8PE?

Just after some informed opinions... Cakewalk is offering some very tempting upgrade specials at the moment. I've really been quite happy with version 7, apart from a few little bugs, but version 8 has a lot of tempting extras thrown in - Is it worth upgrading to version 8, or should I wait for version 9?
Thanks

Umm...no takers?...Is it a silly question, or just a boring one?

I don't think the "extra's" is a good enough reason to upgrade to 8, but if you think it's going to be less buggy, then yes.

I highly recommend upgrading to 8. I've been using Cakewalk/Sonar since 1994, and from what I can tell so far, the 7 to 8 upgrade appears to be the most beneficial so far.

There was a recent thread on Sonar 5, 6, 7 Vs 8.

Since I'm running Vista, some of the Vista-pecularities disappeared after upgrading to 8. Sonar 8 always seems to make better use of CPU processing. More stable. etc.

I'm very happy with 8.

Yeah, Cakewalk can kill you with their "must-have-once-a-year" upgrades. But the upgrade from 7 to 8 is worth it.

In the past I have skipped upgrades. I don't remember ever have Sonar 2 or 5.

Hey, thanks for the reply Tony, I'd heard a lot of users only get every second upgrade -I only started with vers. 7, & I'm using Windows XP home on a dual core computer. Do you think version 8 will be as friendly to me?

Yes it will, but if 7 is working for you just fine you may not need an upgrade in the near term.

7 was working fine for me on WinXP. When I upgraded to Vista, 7 started having some performance issues (i.e., freezing up, ran slower, etc).

So it was important for me to upgrade to 8.

When 9 comes out next year, I may not upgrade at that point, unless there's some significant upgrades that I could use.

I haven't gotten around to upgrading to 8.3 yet, although I downloaded it about 3 weeks ago.
