Sonar V-Studio 100

First and foremost, this is my first attempt at constructing AND operating a DAW....I'm FARRRR from 'tech-savvy' so excuse me if I rub you the wrong way or sound like an idiot as I continue to stumble forward.


I just picked up the VS100 to run with my new Asus PC and the response time from my little Oxygen 8 v2 seems to be ridiculously slow....make sense? I hit a key and about 2 years later I get a sound. This problem does not occur with my Reason software, so I'm totally freaked out that I may have dumped $699 into a retarded program.

...WTF am I missing here?


Any help is IMMENSELY appreciated....

im just trying to get you some kind of info on this but heres a link to a pdf file for the manual it might have different or more info than what you have? it does recommend using the included usb cable are you using it? also what is the oxygen unit?

Yeah, I think/hope my problem is simply the 1.1 usb from the Oxygen keyboad not keeping up with the 2.0 usb system. This is what I'm left with after a litlle research, so I'll pick up a newer/nicer/61-88 keyed board and see if that does the trick. I hate the 25 keys anyway...NO range.

I did start a thread in that forum so I can help in documenting this thing a bit better than it currently seems to be. Definately appreciate your input...Everyone who knows me knows how much of a challenge computers are for me so they all think I'm nuts, however, those who've heard my talent have always encouraged me to play SOMETHING...Fate held me off until now for a reason, let's just say I need this music now more than ever, to heal me amongst many reason.

I intend to gradually pull apart this PC and customize it entirely from the ground up also to help me REALLY understand my instrument/computer. Waitin' for the deal season though for all my accessories.

Well, didnt make it out to pick em up today, but I'm praying they're still available tomorrow. Definately headin' out early, I cant turn down an offer like that!

Shit, I'm gonna need to do some SERIOUS sound proofing befor I can give an accurate report Freakin' things would bust out my windows, in the space I'm workin now!
I guess I'd rather have larger speakers with less volume than the other way around.

man did you pick those up yet? for that price you cant go wrong, they have the adjustable volume so you can set it accordingly to fit your room any progress with the sonar v yet?

...Fuckin Daddys Junky Music.... Apparently the ONE tag attached to BOTH speakers reading 'USED $99' means per speaker. The tag was VERY misleading, so even though I still should've grabbed 'em, I swallowed my frusteration and left, emptyhanded.

I had to take a few days off and just put down some ideas into Reason, if for nothing else, to keep my sanity. Getting this operation up and running has cost me about fifty something Xanax, and quite frankly, I hate taking ANY type of drug. (10 yrs of opiate abuse will put a real fuckin chip on your shoulder!)


SO,... today I am trying to figure out how to get rid of (not just 'uncheck') the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth as it apparently monopolizes the audio driver.

I THINK my love of music overpowers my hatred of computers!

For me 200 for those monitors is a steal since i paid 300 for my 5's, also in my options screen for my daw(cool edit) that is where i configure what out put im using, it has wavetable and my interface so i just put my interface as the output and that was it. keep your head up brother it will come together, for the little bit of time that ive been on here ive learned soooo much and finally my mixes have been improving, even my friends can hear the difference, so i guess patience is everything
