Default sonar 8

i posted another thread on the tech side but wanted to get some input form the sonar 8 users. first, i am very green with the daw

i am running sonar 8 as software
tascam us 1641 as audio interface
amd duo 1.7 ghz with 1 gb memory

i have been having trouble with my system dropping out or audio stopping, i went though and did all the things that was suggested to optimeze my lap.
but still had problems.

last night i downloaded the asio 4 driver and plugged it in and the system ran very stable no drops no audio stop...yeeeeeeeees

however when i go to record i can only see one input from the tascam.. is there another adjustment that i need to do to see all the inputs or is there something else that i must do to correct this?

any help would be great...

Are you using this Tascam unit as your sound card? Under options, audio, you can have sonar rescan your audio card. It will then list all available audio. Also make sure you have installed the correct drivers for the tascam. Tascam says that this unit will not work with 64 bit operating systems. Don't know what you're using. Good luck.

yes, i am using the tascam as my soundcard, have the 1.2 driver (i think this is the newest driver) from tascam web site. i am running a windows vista home, i think it is 32 bit.

i will try what you suggested and see if that will work, thanks for the help

Every driver lists their inputs differently. This is probably the correct way your driver is listing. It is listing the odd numbers because it views the inputs as part of a stereo pair.
My delta lists 2 sets of inputs 1-2, and 3-4, however there are 4 physical inputs on the card. Midi inputs are usually different. Are we talking midi or audio here? If audio, go have fun, use the tutorials that came with the program and enjoy. Youtube also has some videos that will help get you started.

Hi! Have you checked how much memory is available to your system? Look in Task Manager under Performance. If you have less memory available, you will get dropouts (very common with softsynths).
Hope that helps!

Left US-1641 mic in 1 (this is channel 1)
Right US-1641 mic in 1 (this is channel 2)
Stereo US-1641 mic in 1 (this is channel 1 & 2)

If you noticed or this is how it is on mine there are no even numbers listed. The next input reads as mic in 3.........hope this help you....

left is the odd number track and right is the even numbered track....
