Oh great sages, my question is.....how do I erase the data beyond the fade out? I have burned a tune to Cd....the song is 3:50 long, but it goes almost 8 minutes beyond....is there an easy way to erase all the tracks after the fadeout?..........also, I am struggling with submixes. I am trying to put all the instruments on one fader to quickly bring up/down the music in the headphones, but leave the vocal alone so you can hear it better while singing....any help on that? I have Sonar Producer 7, RME Fireface 800 and 4 whole months of creeping along.....thanks all who chime in. I hope to post a tune soon to get some suggestions on EQ.......Thanks.....Ron:)

Hey,
I'm sure there's a better sonar guru out there who would suggest a better method than this, but I figured I'd toss this suggestion out there (and who knows, you've probably already figured this out.) Have you shortened all the clips on the timeline to just a fraction beyond the actual audio data? (you can drag the length of audio clips on the timeline by grabbing either the start or the end of the clip.) Again, you've probably already found this out, but I always keep my recordings to just the length of the actual audio data. |

Let me get this right,
after the song fades out (song is over) the track is still playing right? are you burning the cd with Sonar? if so... you could try exporting it as a MP3 and see if its still playing after the song goes off, if so... then you might want to check your Locator (start\end point) your song might start at 0m:00sec and end at 9m:20sec you cant miss the locators they look like tiny yellow flags right above the sequencer window (where the time line is located) let me know if this helps. |

BTW, for your submix issue, there is a group function. I don't use it much, so I don't want to give you step by step, but do a find on Group. It basically allows you to group a bunch of tracks together and control their volumes. Re clips playing beyond data, I do what midKnight does and pull the clip to just after the end of the audio.

You can also split all tracks at the cursor after your song is done, then delete everything to the right after the split.
