Default Sonar 6 issues

ok i got my hands on sonar 6, now the problems occur when i dbl click the icon..
first a popup appears and says.."audio Driver Error" "The following drivers do not support the current audio format, or are in use by another program."
The device is my USB 360 Headset.

At this point i can click Disable, or Use anyway. (i want to use it.)

either option opens the program with the dialogue boxes telling me i need a midi output. dont care about that...

once i get in i select the first track and set it to my usb device (if i clicked use it anyway) then i select record. And it gets no audio from the set.

any help with this?

Does Sonar 6 work with your onboard soundcard?

everything else works... (as far as i can tell.. ) i can record from any other sources. the only reason i got this is because it records multiple sources simultaniously which is what i need (USB, Mic, and Sereo Mix)

Are all other programs, except Sonar, closed?

From the Cakewalk site:

Audio Driver Error: The following driver(s) either do not support the current audio format, or are in use by another application.
Users may get this error message when setting the Driver Bit Depth or Sampling Rate beyond the capabilities of the currently selected sound card.

Go to Options > Audio > General and reduce the Driver Bit Depth to 16 and the Sampling Rate to 44.1. This is CD-quality and is the best option for most users. Please keep in mind that while many consumer cards such as the Creative Labs Audigy advertise 24-bit capabilities, their drivers only support 16-bit recording/playback.

If your soundcard's clock can be controlled via an external connection (ie Word Clock, ADAT, etc) or via a control panel, please make sure that the device's current sampling rate matches the settings in SONAR.

Your card may also be in use by another program on the computer. To eliminate this problem, please close all applications running in the background such as Real Player, Winamp, etc and turn off all Windows Sounds from the Control Panel. You may then need to restart SONAR. .......... I hope this helps.
